Sorbent AS for iron-removal.

SorbSAM_4020ent AS is a catalytic aluminosilicate sorbent for physico-chemical treatment of water. It is a very effective and economical loading which is used to remove the com-pounds of iron and manganese soluble in water, providing high quality filtering and it is very easily cleaned from settled particles by means of reclaimed cleansing.

“Sorbent AU” is recommended for use as a pressure and a non-pressure systems as a primary or multilayer layer. It is especially effective when in combination with “sorbent MS.”

«Sorbent AS» is used in centralized systems of water treatment, in reclaimed service systems of water treatment and purification  water for removal of iron, manganese, chrome, heavy non-ferrous metals (copper, zinc, lead, nickel, cadmium, etc). Filtering medium separates suspended and colloidal substances.

The principle of filter operation is based on filtering out SAM_4018the above mentioned impurities by means of porous filtering materials surfaces. Oxidation of soluble ions of iron takes place by means of saturation of initial water by oxygen from air under pressure. One of the advantages of the filter is its reliability and that the chemically are not involved in the process of its work both on deironing and under periodic regeneration (reduction) of the filtered mass. It’s a very effective means for removal impurities mentioned above with a small prime cost including minimum cost of handling labour. The decrease of iron content is 95 – 96 %.

In accordance with its properties the sorbent in question is for charging of light filters in the system of industrial water supply as the removal of filtered layer of double layer (anthracite – quartz) pressure or gravitation filter.

Sorbent is very efficient for tertiary treatment of sewage waters of the main and auxiliary shops of metal production including clean cycles at motor deports, oil tank farms, locomotive sheds, etc., to remove inert charging in high – rate trickling filters.

The sorbent regeneration no requires the use of any chemical reagents. For regeneration is necessary periodically to flush sorbent by water or water – air (which is more effective). In operation, the sorbent is not spent. It is a very durable material.

«Sorbent AS» ‘is not processed further chemically active coatings based on manganese or other catalytically active metal, which eliminates the probability of failure for exhaustion or flushing data surfaces. This is one of the fundamental difference between “sorbent AS” on downloads such as «BIRM», «Greensand», “Greensand”, etc. The catalytically active components included in the structure of the sorbent granules evenly that enables efficient operation even during the breaking of the pellets.

    • steady performance sorbent filtration cycle up to 170 hours or more (experimentally worked 244 hours in the initial iron 6.5 mg / l in the industrial filter 2,0-0,6 FOV with guaranteed quality filtrate for iron less than 0.3 mg / L)

Applications and solutions:

  •  used in industrial water supply systems as well as in domestic water supply systems;
  •  holding capacity of the sorbent As higher than from quartz  3.5-4 times;
  •  replacing inert downloads (quartz, quartz sand, granite sifting plants, burned rocks, concrete block, etc.
  •  fine purification of oil products, phenol (replacement of carbon, sulfonated coal, anthracite);
  •  removal of iron, manganese, heavy non-ferrous metals (copper, zinc, cadmium, lead, etc.);
  •  the sorbent is effective as a pretreatment of ion exchange water treatment cycles, increases the service life of the resin;
  •  increases the efficiency of buildings by reducing the volume of wash water to 60%, increase filtration cycle 2-3 times.
  •  reduction in expenditure on water treatment reagents (coagulants, flocculants), achieving a residual standard aluminum 0.2 mg \ l
